Politics has intensified in the state due to the statement given by Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar during the Panchayat election campaign in Malegaon. Actually, while addressing a rally, Pawar told the voters that if you have votes, I have funds. The opposition has asked questions to the Election Commission regarding this.
Pawar said that if they elect his party’s candidates, they will not allow any shortage of funds in the city, but if they reject them, they will also reject them. You have votes, I have funds.
Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Ajit was campaigning for the Malegaon Nagar Panchayat elections in Baramati tehsil on Friday. Pawar is also the Finance Minister in the BJP–NCP–Shiv Sena government of Maharashtra.
The opposition reacted strongly to these statements.

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Ambadas Danve accused Pawar of intimidating voters. The funds come from common people’s taxes and not from Ajit Pawar’s house, he said. If leaders like Pawar are threatening voters, then what is the Election Commission doing?”
Nagar Panchayat elections are scheduled to be held on December 2. Pawar-led NCP and the BJP-backed panel have formed an alliance in Malegaon. Malegaon is an area of Baramati where the political influence of the Pawar family has been present for a long time.
