When Amit (Agarwal) and I started talking about this outfit, the same thought came to mind again and again, I wanted it to be a metaphor for my identity and personality. ‘Amit Aggarwal started with a Banarasi brocade sari and reimagined it into a sculptural corseted silhouette. She retained the beauty of the traditional draping of the saree, but transformed its pallu into a modern couture statement. The design respects tradition, but doesn’t feel tied to it. I think my entire marriage has been exactly like this, while cherishing our roots and traditions, embracing the new journey coming with all our heart.
