Sonam Wangchuk has reacted to Aamir Khan’s statement in which he had said that he had never met Wangchuk before making 3 Idiots. Aamir also said that the film’s character Phunsuk Wangdu was not inspired by Sonam Wangchuk.
In a podcast with Prakhar Gupta, Sonam Wangchuk talked about Aamir’s claim. He has also talked about their meeting.
Wangchuk said, “He (Aamir) said that we never met. After this some videos came out in which he was watching my speech in his Ghajini costume.”
He further said, “Since he was in the form of Ghajini, he might have lost his memory for some time. He might have forgotten everything after 15 minutes. I am not surprised by this. We had a detailed meeting.”
Finally, Sonam Wangchuk took a dig at Aamir and said, “We have heard that he gets into his characters very deeply. Perhaps he was so engrossed in the role of Ghajini that he forgot that he had come to the award ceremony where I was honored. We met at length and discussed many ideas.”
Sonam Wangchuk was in the news while sitting on a fast for Cockroach Janata Party.
Said this on the character of 3 idiots
Sonam Wangchuk has explained why she thinks their conversation may have affected parts of Aamir’s character in 3 Idiots. He added that this does not necessarily mean that the character was based on his entire biography. “Maybe he didn’t tell his team that he saw all this and talked to me.”
He further said, “They could have said that he added these things to the script casually. So the writers and the director would not have known that Aamir had added these things after meeting and talking to someone.”
Wangchuk said, “That’s why they might have forgotten it. It doesn’t matter to me.”
What was Aamir’s statement on Sonam Wangchuk?
In fact, from June to July, Soman Wangchuk was on a fast after joining the Cockroach Janata Party protest. Almost all Bollywood celebs were silent in the initial phase of this protest. Sonam herself has also said that the character of 3 Idiots is not made on her.
Further, Aamir said on Sonam Wangchuk’s fast, ‘Everyone is worried about her health and life. We hope everything will end well. We all hope that he ends his fast and takes care of his health.
After Aamir’s statement, videos of old awards went viral
After Aamir’s statement came out, an old video of Sonam Wangchuk’s Josh Talks went viral, in which she claimed that she had met Aamir in 2008.
Apart from this, another video has surfaced, in which Sonam Wangchuk is receiving the award on stage and Aamir Khan is sitting in the audience listening to her speech. This video is from before the release of 3 Idiots, when Aamir Khan is in Ghajini look.
