Famous actor of Malayalam film industry Mohanlal has resigned from the post of President of Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA).

According to reports, after the actor’s resignation, all the members of this committee have given joint resignation, after which this committee has now been dissolved.

Everyone has taken this decision after the Hema Committee report came out.

Prithviraj Sukumaran had criticized AMMA
‘Salaar’ fame actor Prithviraj Sukumaran reacted to the Justice Hema Committee report and said that he hopes action will be taken against those who are proven guilty. Prithviraj had criticized the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) for not handling the complaints of the victims properly.

He also mentioned that the organization did not take any action on Sridevika’s complaint against director Tulsidas. He said, ‘AMMA needs to intervene and take strict action in this matter.’

Veteran actress Revathi said, ‘I am sure that big actors of the Malayalam industry like Mammootty and Mohanlal are as shocked as we are to hear all this. The only difference is that we are speaking and they are silent.’

While actor Shammi Tilakan reacted on this matter and said- ‘It seems Mohanlal had lost the ability to react.’

These actresses also accused senior artists of harassment
Recently, Malayalam actress Sonia Malhar revealed that an actor tried to force himself on her during the shooting of a film in 2013. Actresses Geetha Vijayan and Sridevika have also accused director Tulsidas of sexual harassment during the shooting of the film.

In view of the increasing number of cases, a 3-member committee was formed in 2019 under the chairmanship of retired Justice Hema, which was closely monitoring such cases. On August 19, nearly 4 years after the formation of the committee, the Hema Committee submitted a 233-page report to the Kerala government, in which exploitation by many big artists has come to light. As soon as the report came out, many actresses are revealing the exploitation they faced.
