Salman Khan and filmmaker Subhash Ghai have mainly worked together in the 2008 film ‘Yuvraj’.
Filmmaker Subhash Ghai recently told that after his fight with Salman Khan, Salim Khan had sent him to apologize to him.
This incident happened before both of them worked together in the film ‘Yuvraj’. According to Ghai, Salman had allegedly abused her at a party and there was a scuffle between the two.
In an interview to Times Now, Subhash Ghai said, “Salman Khan’s brother approached me for Yuvraj and said, ‘Why don’t you make a film with Salman?’ I said, ‘Is Salman ready for this? Because I never worked with him. He said, ‘He’s ready.'”
After this Ghai wrote the story of the film. He said, “My challenge was that I had to cast the actor in a character which he had never played before.”
Let us tell you that Anil Kapoor and Katrina Kaif were also with Salman Khan in the film ‘Yuvraj’. Despite this the film was not successful at the box office.
Salman Khan starrer film ‘Yuvraj’, released in 2008, was made with a budget of around ₹ 48 crore. The film had earned around ₹31.22 crore at the box office.
Ghai said- Star image can outweigh the character. When the film was not successful, Ghai said, “Sometimes these characters don’t work because the star dominates the character. Instead of playing the character, he plays himself.”
Ghai further said, “After a while stars become caricatures of themselves. How many times can you repeat yourself? Hats off to Bachchan Sahab i.e. Amitabh Bachchan for playing so many characters.”
Subhash Ghai made his directorial debut in 1976 with the film Kalicharan, which proved to be a blockbuster at the box office.
Had a fight with Salman in the party
Recalling the incident, Ghai said, “We had a fight before the film. There was a scuffle. After that his (Salman) father scolded him.”
He told, “We were at a party. Salman was drunk. He was saying something wrong, so I told him, ‘Don’t say that.’ He was angry with me about something.”
“They asked me, ‘Why did you do this or that?’” Ghai said. I said that this is my decision as a director. He started abusing me. I asked him not to do this. After this we had a fight there.”
Salim Khan sent Salman to apologize
According to Ghai, after this debate Salim Khan resolved the matter. He said, “The next morning Salim Sahab called me and told me that Salman had told all these things to his mother.”
Ghai said, “He told that I (Salim) had scolded him. After this he sent Salman to my house to apologise. Salman came and apologized politely.”
He further said, “After this I started liking him because he respected his father a lot. I ended that thing there. We used to go to each other’s houses often. After this we did a film together.”
