There is a lot of fun and bickering in ‘Pati, Patni Aur Panga’. How did you agree to be a part of this show? Answer/Shabbir: We do not like to be an idol couple. We want people to see us as an idol couple. Kanchi: We felt that the audience hasn’t seen this side of our lives yet. I am also seen on screen after a long time. We had never worked together before. All the couples were enjoying it a lot. We have been together for 18 years, but had never worked together in any show. So we thought this was a good opportunity. This funny show focuses on couples and their relationships rather than disputes. This is a good thing. This is clean entertainment that the whole family can sit together and watch. The audience will be assured that nothing wrong will be shown in it. Kanchi: Every marriage and relationship is different. All the couples in the show have their own story. The audience will be able to see themselves in some incident related to the couple or their relationship. It’s the small things about married life that make the show interesting. Question: Was there any funny incident that happened during the shooting of the show, from which you learned something new about each other? Answer/Shabbir: There are many funny stories. Many times, instead of being a part of those events, we were enjoying the banter happening there. We can’t tell much about them as they are special parts of the show and high points of the episodes. Kanchi: Of course, there have been many such stories. This is why the audience should watch the show. If we tell all the fun stories now, what will be left to see! Question: For you, both of you are the best couple, but apart from you, which couple did you find most interesting in the show? Answer/Kanchi: All couples are interesting and quite different from each other. Their conversation, behavior and way of living married life is also different. This diversity is what makes the show special. Shabbir: Many times during shooting, despite being a part of the show, we become spectators. Others start enjoying the bickering of couples. Question: What impression did you get after seeing each other for the first time? Answer/Shabbir: My first impression was tremendous. Seeing Kanchi for the first time, I exclaimed, ‘Oh my God!’ These are so beautiful!’ Gradually it came to light that she was not only beautiful but also intelligent. For me this was icing on the cake. Kanchi: My impression after seeing him was very strong. I thought they were so hot! Even today after seeing him or meeting him, my impression remains the same. According to me, there is no single definition of a perfect couple. In every relationship, only those things matter which are right for that couple. Kanchi: If you maintain a relationship just to show off to others, then that is not an ideal relationship. In real life, two people have different personalities. But the beauty of a relationship is to move together as a team in every situation. Be it bickering or fun, it is important to support each other. Shabbir: Absolutely. Some couples fight all day long, while others do not fight at all. The relationships between both can be beautiful in their own way. Sometimes love happens in small talk, and somewhere even silence tells a lot. Every couple’s relationship is different. Question: After so many years of marriage, what advice would you give to keep a relationship beautiful? Answer/Shabbir: My advice is that you should enjoy spending time with the person you are with. While spending time together you don’t even realize when the time has passed. Kanchi: There are ups and downs in life. Facing every situation as a team keeps the relationship strong despite disagreements. It is important to respect each other. Sometimes you may have to say something to your partner that he may not like. But saying things in the right way and with respect makes things easier.
