Aamir Hamza, a founding member of the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), was shot by unknown assailants in Lahore, Pakistan. After the attack, he has been admitted to the hospital, where his condition is said to be critical.
According to media reports, the attackers fired at them outside the office of a news channel in Lahore. It is not yet clear who carried out the attack and why.
This is the second time in less than a year that Hamza has been attacked. Earlier in May last year too, he was shot by unknown people outside his house.
He was taken to hospital after the previous attack. After this, Pakistani authorities had increased their security, although no official statement was released on that incident.

Was the editor of Lashkar’s magazines
Terrorist Aamir Hamza is one of the 17 people involved in the establishment of Lashkar-e-Taiba in 1987. He used to edit several newspapers and magazines related to terrorist activities, propaganda, fund raising and Lashkar-e-Taiba. He has also been a member of the Central Advisory Committee of Lashkar and has been active in establishing relations with other terrorist groups.
Hamza worked to connect Lashkar-e-Taiba with other terrorist groups under the leadership of Hafiz Saeed. He headed a charity organization linked to LeT and was on the board of LeT’s University Trust, which was previously held by Hafiz Saeed.
Hamza fought against the Soviets
Hamza took part in the war against the Soviet Union in Afghanistan in the 1980s. After this he joined Hafiz Saeed and other terrorists.
He is close to Hafiz Saeed and Abdul Rehman Makki. America had declared Hamza a global terrorist in 2012.
Hamza has been linked to several terrorist attacks against India. He is said to be the mastermind of the terrorist attack on the Army Brigade Headquarters in Sunjwan, Jammu.
Had separated from the organization 8 years ago
According to some reports, in the year 2018, there was a split in Lashkar-e-Taiba due to the problem of lack of funds. After this Aamir Hamza separated himself from the organization. He had formed his new organization. It was named Jaish-e-Manakfa.
