Police have arrested a woman for stealing gold-diamond jewelery and watches worth Rs 25 lakh from the house of Rajeev Tandon, brother of Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon.
According to Juhu Police, 47-year-old accused woman Rashi Chhabria was appointed caretaker to take care of Raveena Tandon’s elderly mother Veena Tandon.
The accused woman committed the theft from the locker by winning the trust of the family. The police have arrested the accused and started investigating the case.

The theft came to light in October According to the police FIR, this theft was caught in October last year. When Rajeev Tandon’s family checked the safe of their house, it was found broken. Two expensive watches along with gold and diamond jewelery were missing from the locker.
The total value of the stolen goods is said to be around Rs 25 lakh. Only family members and caretaker Rashi Chhabria could go to the second floor of the house, where this locker was kept.

Confessed to crime during conversation, returned watches but not jewellery. When Rajeev Tandon questioned Rashi Chhabria about this, she first denied the allegations. Later he confessed to the theft. The accused woman returned two expensive stolen watches to the family, but did not return the jewellery. She claimed that she had given all the jewelery to one of her associates named Jagdish and she would soon bring it back. However, despite repeated requests, he did not return the jewellery.
Received threat of drugs case after complaining According to Rajeev Tandon’s complaint, when he applied pressure to demand his jewelery back, he started receiving threats. An associate of Rashi Chhabria threatened Rajeev Tandon by claiming himself to be a police informer. She said that if they did not stop demanding the jewelery back, she would implicate them in a false narcotics case. After this the family registered a case with the police.
The accused was associated with the family since 2020 Rajiv Tandon told the police that Rashi is a resident of Chhabria Khar area. She had been visiting his family since 2020 through some common friends. After the death of her husband and parents, she became very close to the Tandon family. For this reason, he had complete freedom to go anywhere in the house. Juhu police arrested Rashi on May 21, after which the court sent him to police custody till May 29. The investigation of the case is still going on.
