After the success of Dhurandhar, Ranveer Singh is embroiled in controversy after leaving Don 3 just before the shooting. After the complaint of the film’s director and producer Farhan Akhtar, now FWICE (Federation of Western Cine Employees) can take strict action against him. Federation Chief Advisor Ashok Pandit says that the industry will not be allowed to be ruined in this way.
Ashok Pandit said while talking to Bombay Times on this matter-
This is a very serious matter, and this trend is absolutely wrong. You can’t back out of a project just 10 days before the shoot starts. First we will hold an internal meeting and only then take a decision.
He further said, “Now we will do what is right and justified. We will not let the industry be ruined like this. Tomorrow anyone will leave the film. Whatever step we take will be in the interest of the industry only.”

Press conference will be held today on the matter
A press conference has been organized by the federation in Mumbai today at 4:30 pm on the Don 3 casting controversy. In the press note, the federation has written, this press conference is being organized in connection with the decision taken by FWICE on the complaint filed against actor Ranveer Singh, in which he is accused of allegedly walking out of the upcoming film Don 3.
FWICE has received this complaint from Mr. Farhan Akhtar, who is also a member of its affiliate body Indian Film and Television Directors Association (IFTDA). During the press conference, FWICE will officially address the matter and share its stance and decision after investigating the complaint and the circumstances surrounding it.
What is the whole controversy of Don 3?
Farhan Akhtar had announced the film Don 3 in the year 2023 with actor Ranveer Singh. This is the third film of the Don franchise after the 1978 Amitabh Bachchan starrer Don and Shahrukh starrer Don (2006). Kiara Advani was cast in the film at the time of announcement. But due to pregnancy and maternity break, Kiara left the film, after which there were reports of Kriti Sanon being cast.
Farhan Akhtar was making this film under the banner of home production Excel Entertainment. Farhan postponed his second film Jee Le Zara to continue with Don 3.
When the film got delayed, Ranveer Singh got busy with Dhurandhar. There were reports that the shooting of Don 3 would start in 2025, but then suddenly Ranveer Singh left the film. The makers allege that Ranveer was interfering in the script. He was demanding abusive and violent scenes, but the makers did not agree to it.
Mid Day report claimed that Ranveer has left the film and he will soon return the signing amount of the film. Whereas the makers had already spent money on the film due to pre-production, delay and re-work.
On this, Farhan Akhtar complained to the Producers Guild and demanded damages of Rs 40 crore. He said that he has suffered huge losses due to changes in pre-production and shooting schedules.
Then Aamir Khan also tried to intervene, but things did not work out.
The Producers Guild also gave time for reconciliation to both the parties, but a solution was still not found. Now a complaint has been made by Farhan Akhtar to FWICE, on which some action will be taken soon.
