Farhan Akhtar’s film ‘120 Bahadur’ has been released in theaters today. Based on the real story of the Battle of Rezang La in the 1962 India-China war. The film depicts the story of sacrifice and courage of 120 brave Indian soldiers of Charlie Company of the 13th Kumaon Regiment. Who bravely faced the heavy contingents of the Chinese army.
Directed by Rajneesh ‘Raizi’ Ghai, this film is produced under the Excel Entertainment banner of Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar. Farhan has played the role of Major Shaitan Singh Bhati in this film. The length of this film is 2 hours 17 minutes. Dainik Bhaskar has given this film a rating of 4.5 stars out of 5.

What is the story of the film?
The film starts with a strong, serious and emotional voiceover by Amitabh Bachchan, which takes you straight to those days when the friendship between the two countries turned into betrayal and China attacked without warning. This story is born out of the cracks of that betrayal.
The story of the film is based on the historic battle of the India-China war of 1962, where Charlie Company, called Ahir, deployed in Chusul sector, was defending its post. The company was commanded by Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, and only 120 Indian braves were present with him.
Meanwhile, the Chinese army moves towards the Indian post in large numbers and attacks without any warning. Despite the contest appearing to be one-sided, Ahir responded boldly on the basis of his understanding of the terrain, high altitude position and his discipline. The enemy attacks continuously in waves, but 120 soldiers fight till the last breath to save their post.
The film clearly shows how despite being surrounded by overwhelming numbers, Charlie Company set an example of bravery, discipline and courage that has been recorded in history.

How is the acting of the star cast?
Farhan Akhtar as Major Shaitan Singh Bhati has shown the perfect blend of quiet determination and dark intensity. His restrained anger, leadership and emotional weight all make the scene impactful. He seems completely believable as the commander of the Ahir Boys. The soul of the film is Sparsh Walia, who proves to be the biggest surprise from beginning to end as constable Ram Chandra Yadav. His fatigue, fear, hope and emotion are so real that the audience instantly connects with him, and because the story unfolds from his perspective, his performance adds depth to the entire film. Raashi Khanna brings warmth to her limited but emotional character, while Vicky Ahuja and the rest of the supporting cast believably bring out the gravity of war and the human frailty of the soldiers.
How is the direction and technical aspects of the film?
Director Rajneesh ‘Raji’ Ghosh has presented this historical battle of 1962 in a simple, clean and emotional style. The film sets the tone as soon as it starts with Amitabh Bachchan’s impressive voiceover. The locations, art direction and battle moments feel quite authentic. The camera work captures the chaos of the battle and the fear and emotion of the soldiers very well.

How is the music of the film?
The background score is powerful and adds to the excitement in many scenes. The songs are not that effective, but match the story of the film perfectly. And the spirit of patriotism can be seen in this.
Final Verdict, watch or not?
120 Bahadur reaches the heart because of its emotion, research and respect for real heroes. The story is straightforward, the acting is strong, and the direction dignifies it. The India-China war undoubtedly proved to be a painful defeat for India, but amidst this defeat, there was also a victory hidden which made the whole world realize the courage and spirit of the Indian soldiers. This film teaches that real victory comes from courage and patriotism.
