Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has decided not to allow Muslims to participate in Garba-Dandiya during Navratri in Maharashtra. VHP has set rules for the organisers. Those coming here have been asked to check their Aadhar card and apply tilak on their forehead to confirm their Hindu identity. Garba is organized at more than one lakh places during Navratri in the state. VHP said- Rules have been made to stop love jihad. VHP said – Navratri is a festival of worship of the Goddess. VHP’s national spokesperson and joint secretary Shriraj Nair said – Navratri is not just a festival of dancing and singing, but a festival of worship of the Goddess. The purpose of the restrictions is not to oppose any community. VHP considers these as precautionary measures. He said that monitoring squads of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal will be deployed in Garba pavilions to ensure that the rules are followed.
