Lyricist Javed Akhtar criticized the lavish honor and welcome given to Afghanistan Foreign Minister Aamir Khan Muttaki in India. Akhtar also particularly criticized Darul Uloom Deoband of Saharanpur, which welcomed Muttaqi respectfully. Akhtar said, ‘I bowed my head in shame after seeing the respect given by the speakers on the stage to the representative of the Taliban, the world’s most dreaded terrorist group. Deoband should also be ashamed. The Taliban has banned girls’ education.
