The names of the two pilots who saved the Flydubai plane going from Dubai to Israel have not been revealed yet. According to AP, even after taking control of the plane, both the pilots did not talk to the passengers for some time. This made the passengers more scared. About 45 minutes later, the pilots told that the plane would be landed in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia and everything was fine. After this the passengers felt confident. Flydubai has not yet disclosed the names of the two pilots. The airline has only said that both were crew members and were traveling on the plane at the time.
There was chaos as soon as the captain was attacked
Daniel Schlichter, a front passenger, told the AP that passengers knew something serious had happened when they heard screaming from the cockpit. According to him, the co-pilot was continuously attacking the captain.
The captain was badly injured and there was blood all over the cockpit. Despite this he opened the cockpit door. One passenger caught hold of the co-pilot and pulled him out, while the other passengers tried to control him.
Meanwhile, an additional pilot quickly reached the cockpit and took control. According to Schlichter, after some time the second pilot also reached inside. Both of them closed the door.
After the plane landed in Saudi, Captain Smit was taken for treatment.
Both pilots were present to take the plane back to Dubai
Initially the passengers did not know why these two pilots were present in the plane. Later it was revealed that he had to take a return flight from Tel Aviv to Dubai. That’s why they were already traveling by plane.
In aviation, this type of travel of a pilot going to another place for duty is called ‘deadheading’. That is, at that time both the pilots were traveling as passengers, but as soon as the emergency came, they reached the cockpit and took control of the plane.
It took more than 10 minutes to handle the plane
After both pilots reached the cockpit, it took about 10 minutes or more to stabilize the aircraft. Earlier, the plane had descended so fast that a part of its rudder was also damaged.
The pilots called may-day and began searching for a safe landing spot. The plane was later landed in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia.

After the plane landed safely, Schlichter praised both pilots. He described the entire incident as a miracle.
According to him, the pilot who reached the cockpit first understood the situation without wasting time and took control. Schlichter said that the role of these two pilots was also very important in saving the lives of the passengers.
