News channel ABC News has agreed to donate $15 million to the Presidency Library of America’s newly elected President Donald Trump. Trump filed a defamation suit against ABC News.
ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos claimed on live TV that Trump had been convicted of raping author E. Jean Carroll. George made this claim on March 10 in his show ‘This Week’.
Documents related to this case were made public on Saturday. According to this, ABC News will post an apology on its website and express regret for the claim it had made. Along with this, he will also pay a fee of 1 million dollars to Trump’s lawyer. ABC News posted that it was pleased to see the lawsuit dismissed in exchange for a settlement.

Trump is guilty of sexual harassment with Carroll
Donald Trump was found guilty of sexually assaulting New York magazine writer E. Jean Carroll in 2023. Carroll had alleged that Trump had sexually assaulted and raped her in 1996. However, the jury in its decision had declared Trump guilty only of sexual exploitation. For this, Trump was also fined $5 million.
Earlier, Trump had said in a statement about Carroll that she is not his type. In a second statement, Trump alleged that Carroll had lied about sexual assault. After this statement by Trump, Carroll sued him for defamation.
Convicting Trump in the defamation case, the court had imposed a fine of $83 million.

Trump is guilty of having relations with porn stars
Donald Trump was convicted on May 30 this year on charges of having a relationship with porn star Stormy Daniels and paying her to keep him quiet. After being found guilty, Trump in August asked the Federal Court to intervene in the case. After this the Federal Court sent the case back to the New York Court.
Trump had filed a petition in the New York court to cancel the sentence. However, after Trump won the presidential election, the court postponed the hearing on the petition indefinitely.
Case before becoming President in 2016
Cases were pending against Trump for paying money to silence porn star Stormy Daniels and falsifying business records during the election campaign. This matter happened before he was elected President of America in 2016. After its disclosure, this was the first time in American history that a criminal case was filed against a President.
According to news agency Reuters, the court heard 22 witnesses in 6 weeks. Stormy Daniels was also included in these.
