There have been many actors in Bollywood who became stars in a few years and then suddenly disappeared. Similar is the story of actor Shiney Ahuja. He was once counted among the rising stars of Hindi films. He worked with stars like Akshay Kumar and Shilpa Shetty. Appeared in many hit films, but now he is far away from the glamor of Mumbai. He has left India after a criminal case. According to the report of Economic Times, he is now running a garment business in the Philippines.
Shiney was born in an army family in Delhi. After completing his studies, he started working in advertising. Due to his personality and looks, he soon started appearing in many advertisements. He did more than 40 ads and also appeared in a music video.
After which his Pepsi ad became the turning point of his career. It was through this ad that director Sudhir Mishra noticed him. He gave Shiney a chance in his film Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi (2005). This film was liked a lot and Shiney’s acting was also praised.

In Gangster, Shiney played the role of Daya Shankar, the lover of Kangana Ranaut’s character Simran.
After this he did films like Gangster (2006), Woh Lamhe (2006), Life in a Metro (2007) and Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007). Both the audience and critics appreciated his performance.
But everything changed in 2009. Shiney was accused of raping his 19 year old maid. As soon as the news came out, there was a stir in the film industry and fans. He was arrested and sent to Arthur Road Jail in Mumbai. Later the victim withdrew her statement, but by then her image had suffered huge damage.
In 2011, the court convicted him and sentenced him to 7 years. Shiney claimed his innocence and appealed against the verdict. After many years, he tried to make a comeback with the film Welcome Back (2015), but after this he was not seen in any film.
Now Shiny is living in Philippines. He is handling the garment business there and is maintaining distance from media or films.
