सोनू निगम ने अजान के लिए रोका अपना कॉन्सर्ट: बोले– दो मिनट दीजिए, दर्शकों ने तालियां बजाकर की सराहना

Sonu Nigam recently performed a live concert in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. A video of the concert is going viral on social media. In this, Sonu Nigam was seen stopping his show for Azaan.

He said, “Please give me two minutes, Azaan is about to start here.” The audience appreciated his gesture by clapping. After the Azaan was over, Sonu started the performance again.

Sonu Nigam performed his first live concert in Srinagar on 26 October 2025.

It is noteworthy that in the year 2017, Sonu Nigam came into controversy when he raised questions on giving Azaan on loudspeaker. After the controversy, he had said that his objection was not to any religion, but to the noise made by loudspeakers. He also raised questions on the use of loudspeakers in temples and Gurudwaras.

After the controversy in 2017, Sonu Nigam had deleted some of his tweets.

In fact, Sonu had written in a tweet on April 17, 2017, “May God keep everyone happy. I am not a Muslim and I had to wake up in the morning because of Azaan. When will the imposition of religion stop in India? At the time Mohammed Sahib created Islam, there was no electricity. Then after the discovery of Edison, why do we need it? I don’t think any temple or Gurudwara uses electricity to uplift those who do not follow that religion.”

After this, in the next tweet, Sonu wrote – “Hooliganism is enough.”

Sonu Nigam had shaved his head

At the same time, in another tweet of Sonu Nigam on April 18, 2017, it was said, “Dear everyone, your reaction shows your own IQ. I still stand by my point, loudspeakers should not be allowed in mosques and temples. That’s it, the matter is over.”

Sonu Nigam got his head shaved by his celebrity hair stylist Aalim Hakim.

In April 2017, amidst this controversy, the then Vice President of West Bengal Minority United Council, Syed Shah had announced to give Rs 10 lakh to the person who shaved the head of Sonu Nigam. In response to this, Sonu Nigam himself got his head shaved and said to keep Rs 10 lakh ready.
