At the same time, after the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, there was a debate in Bollywood regarding drugs and nepotism. During this time, Kangana had compared the film industry to ‘gutter’.
Jaya Bachchan had reacted to Kangana’s statement in the Rajya Sabha without naming her. He had said that some people make holes in the plate from which they eat. Jaya had said that it was wrong to call Bollywood a gutter.
After this Kangana responded to Jaya Bachchan’s statement on social media. He had written, “Jaya ji, would you have said the same thing if in my place your daughter Shweta had been beaten, drugged and molested as a teenager? Would you have said the same thing if Abhishek had complained of constant bullying and harassment and one day had been found hanging? Show some compassion for us too.”
