Notice has been issued to actor Salman Khan from Delhi High Court. This notice has been sent after a petition filed by an Artificial Intelligence (AI) based voice-generation platform of China. The company has challenged the interim order of the court, in which Salman Khan’s personality and publicity rights were protected. On December 11, 2025, the Delhi High Court had passed an interim order to secure the personality rights of Salman Khan, under which the use of Salman Khan’s name, photograph, voice, appearance and other things related to his public identity without permission was banned. This ban was implemented on both digital and commercial platforms. This order was given after Salman Khan approached the court. The actor had filed a petition in the court complaining that his identity was being misused through AI generated voices, deepfake videos, fake advertisements and merchandise being sold without permission. After this the personality rights of the actor were secured. Now the Chinese company that filed the petition has argued in the court that this interim order will affect its business operations, because the company’s work is to create voice models through AI. The court has issued a notice to Salman Khan and asked him to file a reply in this matter within four weeks. The next hearing of the case will be on February 27. These celebs also took personality rights. Before Salman Khan, many celebs like Amitabh Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan, Karan Johar have taken personality rights. Under this, now no person will be able to use their photographs, voice or anything related to their identity without their permission. Celebs are taking these rights due to the increasing cases of AI and deepfakes.
