The newspaper wrote – Indian soldiers are responsible for the clash
Global Times has blamed the Galwan incident on Indian soldiers. The newspaper writes that Galwan Valley is on the Chinese side of the LAC on the western side of the China-India border. Even before the violent clash, Chinese soldiers were patrolling and doing duty here for many years.
From April 2020, Indian troops started building roads, bridges and other facilities along the LAC. China protested several times, but India crossed the LAC and did provocative acts.
The Chinese newspaper writes that on the morning of 6 May 2020, Indian soldiers crossed the LAC at night and entered Chinese territory and obstructed the patrolling of Chinese soldiers by building fortifications and barricades there. Chinese troops had to take necessary steps to handle the situation and maintain control over the border.
Global Times writes that China shared complete details of the Galwan clash in 2021, so that the martyrs can be honored. Ren Guoqiang, the defense ministry spokesperson at the time, said that the responsibility for the clash lay with the Indian Army, as they illegally crossed the LAC and attacked Chinese troops.
China had confessed to the killing of 4 soldiers
According to the Chinese government, 4 Chinese officers and soldiers were martyred and one was seriously injured in this clash. However, this claim of China is being doubted all over the world.
Australian news site ‘The Klaxon’ had claimed in an investigative report in February 2022 that China had suffered huge losses in the Galwan clash. The report was based on satellite images, Chinese social media data and independent research.
According to this report, not 4 but 38 Chinese soldiers were killed in the Galwan violent conflict. According to the report, many Chinese soldiers were killed by drowning in the Galwan River.
Earlier, China’s social media platform Weibo had also talked about 38 Chinese soldiers floating in the river that night, but Chinese authorities had removed all these posts.
The report said that to hide the truth about Galvan, China presented two different incidents by linking them together. China never disclosed the exact number of its soldiers killed in Galwan and announced to give medals to a total of 4 soldiers killed in the clash last year.
The American newspaper ‘News Week’ also published a report in 2021, in which it was claimed that more than 60 Chinese soldiers were killed in the clash in Galwan on June 15, 2020.
