‘International Summer Festival-2026’ has started on the Ridge of Shimla. Before the cultural evening, ‘Bhavya Mahanati’ was staged today (Tuesday) on Mall Road. 320 Anganwadi workers and Anganwadi helpers participated in Mahanati and got a wonderful glimpse of Himachali folk culture.

Women wearing traditional Himachali costumes, Dathu and Rejta, presented a group dance on folk tunes. During Mahanati, the entire Ridge Ground and Mall Road were packed with local people and tourists.
A large number of tourists were also seen dancing to the tunes of Naati and enjoying the dance. During this time, tourists also captured pictures and videos of the program in their cameras.

Bollywood singer Jyotika’s presentation today
Famous artists of the country and the state will entertain the audience with their performances for the next four days in the Summer Festival. Bollywood singer Jyotika will entertain people this evening. Tomorrow (June 10), Himachal’s popular folk singer and dance king Kuldeep Sharma will make the audience dance to his folk tunes.
The festival will conclude with a performance by famous Punjabi singer Gurnam Bhullar on June 11 and Punjabi singers Jassi Gill and Babbal Rai on June 12. Tourists including locals will be able to dance till 10 pm in the cultural evening on the ridge.

Lots of competitions and cultural events
Along with cultural programs, many competitions and special events are also being organized in the Summer Festival. District level volleyball competition, Voice of Mountains, Fashion Show, Dog Show, Baby Show, Kavi Goshti, Mushaira, Theater Festival and Film Festival are the major attractions.
Apart from this, road safety awareness campaigns, art exhibitions and presentations of various cultural institutions will also be organized, which will provide diverse experiences to the people coming to the festival.

‘Shimla Taste Festival’ will be organized in Ladies Park
A special ‘Shimla Taste Mahotsav’ is being organized at Ladies Park for food lovers. Here, stalls of traditional dishes from different districts of Himachal Pradesh as well as popular food items from across the country have been set up.
Tourists and locals are enjoying the taste of Himachali Dham, Pahari cuisine, local products and various fast foods at one place.
Special attractions for youth and children
Voice of Shimla and Fashion Show is the center of special attraction for the youth, while many entertaining activities and competitions are also being organized for the children. The Ridge, Mall Road and surrounding areas are decorated with attractive lights and decorations, making the entire city colorful in festive colours.
