Eight people died in an earthquake late Friday evening in Kabul, Afghanistan. The tremors of this 6.3 magnitude earthquake were also felt in many parts of Pakistan, although there was no news of any damage there.
According to Pakistan Meteorological Department, the earthquake was recorded at 9:13 pm. Its center was in the Hindukush region of Afghanistan and its depth was 190 kilometers from the ground.
The earthquake was felt in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Pakistan Occupied Kashmir and parts of Punjab.
Pakistan falls in an earthquake-prone area, as it is located at the junction of the Arabian Sea, Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates.
Earlier in February also, earthquake tremors were felt several times in Afghanistan. About 74 thousand people died in the 2005 earthquake, which was the most destructive earthquake in the country.
