Another youth from Haryana has died in the Russia-Ukraine war. This time the death of 28-year-old Sonu of Madanhedi village of Hisar has been confirmed. Sonu’s elder brother Anil told that Sonu was forcibly recruited into the Russian Army and sent to war.

He received a call from the Commander of the Russian Army, informing him that Sonu had been killed in a drone attack by Ukraine. Sonu’s body can be airlifted and brought to India by Wednesday morning. Earlier, 22-year-old Karmchand of Kaithal had died. He was also fraudulently recruited into the Russian Army.
Four days ago, the family received a video message from Aman of village Madanhedi in Hisar. In a video of about 1 minute, Aman told that on August 25, he was fraudulently recruited into the Russian Army. It was said that he had a job as a guard. After 12 days of training, he was sent straight to the border to fight. Death can happen any time. There are bombings every day and someone is killed in front of our eyes.
Recently, a list of 27 youth was released by the Ministry of External Affairs, who were confirmed to be recruited in the Russian Army. Among these there were 7 names from Haryana. Among them, 2 each are from Fatehabad, Hisar and Kaithal and one is from Kalanaur. Of these, 5 youth have had no contact with their family for a long time.

- Went to Russia for foreign language course in May 2024: Sonu’s brother Anil told that his brother and 24-year-old Aman of the village had gone to Russia in May 2024. Then he went to do a foreign language course. Generally, youth go to Russia and the republics of the old USSR on the pretext of some course or the other. One can easily get work there.
- The last conversation took place on September 3: Anil told that Sonu had last called on September 3 and told that he was being forcibly recruited in the Russian Army and would soon be sent to war. After this, on September 19, a letter was received from Russia, in which it was told that he was missing since September 6 and now his body has been found, but the family says that the body said by the Russian Army is that of someone else.
- On October 6, a letter arrived from Russia: Anil says that on October 6, a Russian Army officer sent a letter to the family informing them that Sonu had died in the war. However, after this the Indian Embassy in Russia did not confirm this. The family also contacted the Indian Embassy. In which it was said that the information about death is correct. The body can reach India by 5 am on Wednesday.
- Difficult to identify dead body: Anil told that the photo of Sonu’s dead body has been sent by the Russian Army, but it is not recognisable. The body is in a completely mutilated condition. Something white like snow has accumulated on the dead body.

Karmchand died on 6th September, died on 18th October. This also happened with 22-year-old Karmchand of village Janedpur in Kaithal district. He wanted to go to Germany. During the war, Karamchand died due to a bomb falling on 6 September. About one and a half months later, on 17 October, his mortal remains returned to India and the last rites were performed in the village on 18 October.

Vijay’s younger brother Sunil Kumar told that he last talked to his brother on the evening of 13 September.
