The nuclear power plant in Russia’s Kursk region, which was attacked by Ukraine.
According to Russian media, Ukraine attacked a drone on the nuclear power plant in Russia’s Cursa region late Saturday night. The incident occurred when Ukraine was celebrating its 34th Independence Day. Russia alleged that the attack caught fire in the nuclear plant.
Russian officials said that many electricity and energy plants were also attacked throughout the night. However, the fire in the nuclear plant was quickly extinguished and no one was injured. The attack has just damaged a transformer.
The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that more than 95 Ukrainian drones were destroyed in the night. On the other hand, Ukraine said that Russia tainted 72 drones and a cruise missile in the night, out of which 48 drones were destroyed.

Today is the 34th Independence Day of Ukraine.
Jailonsky said- Ukraine will continue to fight for his freedom
The attack on Russia took place on the occasion of Ukraine’s Independence Day. In his address to the nation on Independence Day, Ukrainian President Jailonski said that Ukraine would continue to fight for his freedom until his appeal for peace is heard.
Jailonsky emphasized the country’s strength and desire for peace. He said, ‘We are making a Ukraine that is safe and peaceful. Our future is in our hands. He further said, ‘Ukraine has not won yet, but is not even lost.’
Jailonski recently referred to the US-Russia Summit, saying that the world respects Ukraine and gives it equal status. Today Ukraine and Russia 146–146 prisoners were also swapped.
Norway will give military assistance of Rs 6 thousand crore to Ukraine
The Independence Day celebrations in Ukraine were present at the Independence Day celebrations, American Special Envoy Keith Kelog, which was awarded the Ukrainian Order of Merit by Jailonsky.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney arrived in Kiev to meet Jailonsky on Sunday morning. Jailonski’s Chief of Staff Andrea Yermak said that Canada has always stood with Ukraine.
At the same time, Norway on Sunday announced a military assistance of Rs 6 thousand crore for Ukraine, including the air defense system and radar. Norway and Germany together are funding two Patriot systems and missiles.
Jailonski met Trump about ceasefire
US President Trump held a meeting with Ukraine President Jailonsky and European leaders on August 18 at the White House. There was no consensus on the ceasefire between Russia-Ukraine. Trump said that the ceasefire is not possible at the moment.
However, Ukraine’s security guarantee was discussed in the meeting. Trump had said that America and European countries will work together. At the same time, the Russian Putician Office (Kremlin) said that Trump stopped the meeting and talked to Putin on the phone for 40 minutes.
During this time Putin supported direct conversation between representatives of Russia and Ukraine. German Chancellor Frederick Martz had reported that Putin agreed to meet Jailonsky within 15 days during a phone conversation with Trump.
After the meeting, Jailonsky held a press conference and said that Ukraine would buy US weapons worth $ 90 billion (about 8 lakh crore rupees) from Europe’s money in lieu of security guarantee.

Jailonski demand- Be unconditionally ceasefire
The major reason for the war between the two countries is Russia’s Ukrainian land. Jailonsky said during a conversation with Trump that he would not give even an inch of Ukraine to Russia.
They believe that if Ukraine now retreats, it can weaken the sovereignty and security of the country. Also, Russia can get a chance to attack more in future.
Trump held a virtual meeting on 13 August with Ukrainian President Jailonsky and European leaders. In this meeting, Trump spoke of land exchange to end the war.
On this, Jailonsky said- Any decision on the regional integrity of Ukraine cannot be made without taking into account our constitution and public will.
Our principles and decisions related to our land will be at the level of leaders, but Ukraine’s participation in it is necessary. Jailonski demanded a ceasefire unconditionally.
Putin refuses to quit 10% of Ukraine
Russia has occupied about 20% of Ukraine, ie about 1 lakh 14 thousand 500 square kilometers. It includes areas such as Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherrason and Japorijia.
Russia considers these areas its strategic and historical heritage and is not ready to leave them.
Putin has clearly said that talks with Ukraine about peace can only happen when Ukraine leaves his claim from the occupied areas of Russia and accept those areas as part of Russia.
