Actress Riya Chakraborty has got her passport back after five years. He got this passport when the Bombay High Court recently ruled in his favor. The case was related to the death of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. With whom Riya was in a relationship.

Riya shared a picture on Instagram on Friday, in which she is seen holding her passport at the airport.

He wrote, I was my passport in the last 5 years. Countless fights. Endless hope. Today my passport is in my hand again. Now I am ready for your chapter 2! Satyamev Jayate.”

Riya posted on Instagram after getting the passport back.

Riya was detained after Sushant’s death. In September 2020, Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) arrested him in a drug case. He was granted bail after submitting passports.

On September 30, the Bombay High Court directed NCB to return the actress’ passport.

In his application filed through advocate Ayaz Khan, Riya had argued that Riya delayed projects and many projects were missed due to passport submission.

Riya’s lawyer in the case had said that the actress followed all the conditions of bail and never violated court orders.

In the case on behalf of Riya, it was said that due to her profession, she often has to go abroad for shooting, audition and meeting.

Riya has worked in films like ‘Sonali Cable’ and ‘Jalebi’. She was also seen in the TV show ‘MTV Roadies’.

At the same time, NCB had opposed the petition through Advocate SK Halwasia and argued that he should not get special facilities due to celebrities and warned that there could be a danger of their absconding.

However, Justice Neela Gokhale had said that other accused in the case were also given a similar discount and said that Riya Chakraborty had supported the trial. She returned after every foreign trip and never violated the conditions of bail.

Riya Chakraborty was released from Mumbai’s Bhaiyakhala jail after getting bail from the Bombay High Court on October 7, 2020.

The court had said that there was “no reason to doubt” on their availability until the end of the trial. Accepting his petition, the bench had directed that Riya would have to be present on all hearing date until he was exempted by the lower court.
