- Rajnath Singh Inaugurates Guided Pinaka Rocket System; Export To Armenia

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh flagged off the ‘Guided Pinaka’ rocket system from the plant of Solar Defense and Aerospace Limited (SDAL) in Nagpur. Guided Pinaka will now be exported to Armenia from this plant.
On this occasion, he also inaugurated the Medium Caliber Ammunition Facility of SDAL and inspected the rocket assembly area. Praising the private sector in defense production, Singh said that private companies are now making strong contribution towards self-reliant India.
The Defense Minister said that India’s aim is to become a global hub of ammunition production. Earlier, due to shortage of ammunition, modern weapons could not be fully used, but now the situation is changing. Today many types of ammunition are being manufactured entirely in India.

Singh said- Export of Pinaka missiles is a big achievement
The Defense Minister said that the start of export of Pinaka missiles from this facility in Nagpur is a big achievement for India. He said that this not only shows the strength of the country’s defense industry, but also strengthens India’s defense exports.
He said that many other countries are also showing interest in purchasing Pinaka system. After all the tests are completed, the Indian Armed Forces will also use it for the security of the country.
At the end of the program, Singh said that the government’s effort is to ensure that the share of private sector in defense production reaches 50% in the coming time and to make India self-reliant for the country’s defense needs.
30 December- First flight testing of India’s Pinaka rocket successful, 120km range.

India conducted the first successful flight testing of Pinaka Long Range Guided Rocket (LRGR-120) on December 30 from the Integrated Test Range in Chandipur, Odisha. During this, the rocket was fired up to its maximum range of 120 kilometers.
During the flight, the rocket successfully completed all the prescribed in-flight maneuvers and accurately hit the target. All tracking systems deployed in the range monitored the rocket during the entire flight route. The successful test was conducted by the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO).
