Jailed banned Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief Mohammad Yasin Malik has denied his role in the murder of a Kashmiri Pandit woman. He has demanded death sentence.
Yasin Malik is an accused in this case. He has given an affidavit of 25 pages. Yasin Malik is currently lodged in Tihar Jail. He is accused of murder of a Kashmiri Pandit woman.
Wrote about divorcing his wife also
60-year-old Malik also stated in the affidavit his decision to end his marriage with his wife Mushal Hussain. He said that the reason for this was long imprisonment and not being able to talk to the family for the last 8 years. Yasin said that he was not given the facility of phone calls or video conferencing.
Malik wrote for his wife in the same affidavit, “Before being hanged, I have decided to divorce you from the bond of our Nikah.”
Malik advised his daughter Razia Sultana to talk to her grandparents for 5 minutes every day.
Big things written in Yasin’s affidavit…
- Before the charge sheet was filed, three SIA officers had come to meet him in Tihar Jail and inquired about only two charges. First – related to the JKLF note which claimed responsibility and contained the names of Javed Mir, Sheikh Abdul Hamid and Mohammad Yasin Malik.
- Second, the JKLF had ordered Bhat’s murder because they suspected that she was giving information to security personnel about Malik’s presence in Hafiz Bajaj’s house. If this note was found at the spot, then why were three people not made accused for 30 years?
- The then Governor Jagmohan was considered by a large section of the Kashmiri Pandit community as their protector, but he never said that Malik, Bhat or any Kashmiri Pandit was responsible for the murder.
- When arrested in August 1990, nearly two dozen cases were registered under TADA, but Bhat was never charged in the murder case.
