After the inauguration, Namo Bharat train will run for Meerut South every 15 minutes from 5 pm onwards.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 13-km long stretch of Delhi-Meerut NaMo Bharat Corridor between Sahibabad and New Ashok Nagar on Sunday.
Presently Namo Bharat Rapid Train is running on 42 km stretch between Sahibabad and Meerut South. After inauguration this part will increase to 55 km.
It is part of the country’s first Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor. The 82 km long Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat Corridor will start from Sarai Kale Khan in New Delhi and end at Modipuram in Meerut.
Apart from this, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of development projects worth more than Rs 12200 crore for Delhi.
This includes the inauguration of the 2.8 km long Janakpuri-Krishna Park section of Delhi Metro Phase-4. Its cost is around Rs 1200 crore. This is the first part of Phase 4.
Apart from this, he will also lay the foundation stone of 26.5 km long Rithala-Kundli section of Metro Phase-4 (Rs 6230 crore) and the building of Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI) (Rs 185 crore).

The fare for standard coach from New Ashok Nagar to Meerut South is Rs 150 and for premium coach is Rs 225.
The cost of the entire project is ₹ 30 thousand crores, 2.5 lakh tons of carbon emissions will be reduced annually. Of the 13 km long section of Sahibabad-New Ashok Nagar, 6 km is underground, which also includes Anand Vihar station.
At the same time, New Ashok Nagar station is an elevated station (built on a bridge above the road). The cost of this section is around Rs 4600 crore. The estimated cost of the entire 82 km corridor is Rs 30,274 crore. This project is expected to be completed by June 2025.
It is estimated that once the corridor becomes operational, more than one lakh private vehicles will be removed from the roads and carbon emissions will be reduced by 2.5 lakh tonnes annually.
Namo Bharat train runs at a speed of 100 kmph Currently, it takes about one and a half hours to reach Meerut from Delhi by express train. At the same time, after the completion of this project, this journey will be completed in just 55 minutes.

From Delhi’s New Ashok Nagar station to Meerut South, the standard coach fare is Rs 150 and the premium coach fare is Rs 225.

1. Foundation stone of 3 projects in Delhi University Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of 3 new projects costing more than Rs 600 crore in Delhi University.
- An academic block will be built in the eastern campus of Surajmal Vihar.
- An academic block will be constructed in the western campus of Dwarka.
- The building of Veer Savarkar College will be built in Roshanpura, Najafgarh.
2. Swabhiman Flat Project, PM Modi hands over keys to beneficiaries

PM Modi also inspected the houses built under the Swabhiman Flat Project.
In Delhi’s Ashok Vihar, PM Modi handed over the keys of 1,675 flats under the Swabhiman Flat Project to the beneficiaries living in slums (JJ Cluster). Under this project, about Rs 25 lakh has been spent on each flat. Beneficiaries have to pay only Rs 1.42 lakh and an additional Rs 30,000 for five years of maintenance.
3. PM Modi to inaugurate CBSE office in Dwarka The Prime Minister also inaugurated the CBSE building in Dwarka, Delhi, on which about Rs 300 crore has been spent. This includes offices, auditorium, data center, water management system. This building has been built environment-friendly and under the platinum rating of the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC).
4. Inauguration of 2 urban redevelopment projects The Prime Minister also inaugurated 2 urban redevelopment projects – the World Trade Center (WTC) at Naoroji Nagar and the General Pool Residential Accommodation (GPRA) Type-II Quarter at Sarojini Nagar. The GPRA Type-II quarter comprises 28 towers, housing over 2500 residential units.

Election dates in Delhi will be announced soon The current tenure of Delhi Assembly ends on 23 February 2025. The Election Commission may announce the election dates in the second week of January. The last assembly elections were held in February 2020, in which the Aam Aadmi Party won an absolute majority and 62 out of 70 seats.
