Yesterday’s big news was related to the Emergency imposed in 1975. The government has declared 25 June as ‘Samvidhan Hatya Diwas’. On this day, the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had imposed Emergency in the country. The second big news was the bail granted to CM Kejriwal. He will remain in jail even after getting bail. We will tell the reason for this later…

1. ‘Constitution Murder Day’ will be celebrated on 25 June, Central Government issued notification
Indira Gandhi declared emergency just before midnight on 25 June 1975. Many eminent leaders like Jayaprakash Narayan, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Lal Krishna Advani were arrested against the emergency.
The central government has declared 25 June as ‘Samvidhan Hatya Diwas’. The government has also issued a notification for this. Home Minister Amit Shah wrote on the social media platform X that on 25 June 1975, the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi imposed emergency, showing her dictatorial mentality. She strangled the soul of democracy. Lakhs of people were put in jail without any reason and the voice of the media was suppressed.
PM Modi also tweeted: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, ‘Celebrating 25 June as Constitution Hatya Diwas will remind us of what happened on that day and how the Constitution of India was crushed. This was a dark period brought by the Congress in the history of India.’
Congress’ statement on this decision of the government: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said, ‘In the last 10 years, this government has celebrated Constitution Hatya Diwas every day. BJP has snatched self-respect from every poor and deprived section of the country every moment. He further said that in Madhya Pradesh, BJP leaders urinate on tribals. In Hathras, UP, the police forcibly cremates a Dalit girl. If this is not the murder of the Constitution, then what is it? Kharge listed issues ranging from Manipur violence to demonetization. He said that it does not sound good to talk about the Constitution from this government’s mouth.
2. Rahul Gandhi came in defense of Smriti Irani, said- it is not right to use abusive language against her
Four former Union ministers including Smriti Irani vacated their government bungalows in Lutyens Delhi on July 11. Smriti Irani was being continuously trolled on social media since this news came out. Seeing this, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has defended BJP leader Smriti Irani.
Rahul appealed to the people: The Congress leader wrote in a post on X-‘There are wins and losses in life. I appeal to everyone to refrain from using abusive language and misbehaving with Smriti Irani or any other leader. Insulting people is a sign of weakness, not strength.’
The bungalow was vacated after the defeat: Smriti Irani contested the Lok Sabha elections from Amethi seat for the second time, but she was defeated by Congress leader Kishori Lal Sharma by more than 1.5 lakh votes. After this she had to vacate the government bungalow. Congress supporters called her defeat a humiliating defeat.
3. Kejriwal gets bail in ED case in liquor policy matter, will remain in jail in CBI case
The ED had arrested Arvind Kejriwal in the liquor policy case on March 21 and the CBI had arrested him on June 26.
The Supreme Court has granted interim bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the liquor policy scam. While granting bail, Justice Sanjeev Khanna said – Kejriwal has been in jail for 90 days. Therefore, we order him to be released. We know that he is an elected leader and it is up to him to decide whether he wants to remain the Chief Minister or not. Justice Khanna also said that we are transferring this case to a larger bench. What is the arrest policy, what is its basis. For this, we have also prepared 3 such questions. If the larger bench wants, it can make changes in Kejriwal’s interim bail.
Kejriwal will remain in jail: Kejriwal has got bail in ED’s money laundering case. The second case against him is of CBI. In which his judicial custody has been extended till July 25, so he will not be able to come out of jail.
ED said- Kejriwal is the mastermind of liquor policy case: In the liquor policy case, the ED on Thursday presented a 208-page seventh supplementary chargesheet in Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court. In this, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal was described as the mastermind and conspirator of the case. It was also said that the money obtained from the scam was spent on the election campaign of the Aam Aadmi Party.
4. Government falls in Nepal, PM Prachanda resigns, China-backed Oli may become Prime Minister
Nepal’s Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda has resigned from his post. He failed to get the confidence vote in the Parliament. He could remain the Prime Minister for only 1 year and 6 months. In the floor test, he got the support of only 63 out of 275 MPs. 194 MPs of Nepal’s National Assembly voted against him. He needed the support of 138 MPs to save the government.
Reasons for the fall of the government: Earlier this month, pro-China KP Sharma Oli’s party CPN-UML broke its alliance with Prime Minister Prachanda’s Communist Party of Nepal. After this, his government came into minority. Under Article 100 (2) of Nepal’s Constitution, he had to prove majority within a month. He failed in this. Now pro-China Oli can become the next Prime Minister of the country.
5. 800 villages in UP submerged in flood; Landslide on Badrinath route, 4 thousand devotees stranded
Due to heavy rains, there is a flood like situation in 7 districts near Nepal-UP border. More than 20 lakh people are affected by floods in about 800 villages of Pilibhit, Lakhimpur Kheri, Bahraich, Shravasti, Balrampur, Siddharth Nagar and Maharajganj. NDRF and SDRF teams are engaged in rescue operations. Many rivers of UP are in spate. There is about 2 to 3 feet of water in Shahjahanpur on Delhi-Lucknow highway. Due to this, a part of the highway has been closed. Vehicles are being diverted and taken out.
Devotees who went to all four Dhams are stranded: 200 roads are closed in Uttarakhand due to continuous rain and landslides for the last five days. The worst situation is on the Badrinath route, where the Char Dham Yatra route is closed for 3 days due to landslides at 22 places. 4 thousand devotees are stranded on the roads.
6. Kangana said- Those who meet me should bring their local Aadhar card, also bring the reason for meeting in writing
MP from Mandi Lok Sabha seat of Himachal Pradesh and Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has said that those who want to meet her should bring their Aadhar card of Mandi area. People coming to meet her will have to bring the purpose of their visit written on paper. Congress has expressed displeasure over this statement of Kangana. Himachal PWD Minister and Congress leader Vikramaditya Singh said- It is not appropriate for a public representative to meet only the people of his parliamentary constituency. 8. The martyr’s father said- Daughter-in-law did not let me touch the medal, I treated her like a daughter, but daughter-in-law left us
The dispute between the parents and daughter-in-law of martyr Captain Anshuman Singh of Deoria is in the headlines. Father Ravi Pratap Singh told Dainik Bhaskar- Daughter-in-law Smriti did not even let me touch the Kirti Chakra awarded to my son. She stayed with me for 3-4 days in Delhi but did not talk. We do not have any sign of the Kirti Chakra being awarded. Daughter-in-law Smriti tried to snatch my identity by getting my son’s address changed. She is not interested in the memories associated with my son. I had considered her as my daughter. I was ready for her marriage to my younger son but did not think she would do this. She left us. She only wanted money.
Anshuman was martyred in 2023: Captain Anshuman Singh of Deoria was martyred in Siachen Glacier on 19 July 2023. The Indian Army tent caught fire there. Many soldiers got trapped in the fire. Seeing his loved ones surrounded by fire, Regimental Medical Officer Captain Anshuman Singh could not stop himself. Captain Anshuman was martyred while trying to save his comrades. Martyr Anshuman Singh was awarded the Kirti Chakra on 5 July 2024.
