Actor Mushtaq Khan’s prayer meeting was held in Mumbai on Wednesday. Many Bollywood actors and their associates including Poonam Dhillon, Rajpal Yadav, Rahul Roy, Kiran Kumar, Anil Sharma attended the prayer meet.

His character of tailor Rafoo Master in Aashiqui and Bhagwati Prasad Mishra in Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke became quite popular.
After this Hera Pheri, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, Jodi no. He played comic and supporting roles in films like 1 and Rowdy Rathore.
He gained a lot of fame with the role of ‘Ballu’ in the 2007 film ‘Welcome’.

Family: Wife, two sons and a daughter

His elder son Mohammad Arshad Khan has made his career apart from the film world. Whereas, younger son Mohsin Khan is associated with the film industry. However, he does not act. Mohsin is a director and producer. He has directed the Marathi comedy film ‘Delivery Boy’.
Mushtaq Khan shared a picture with his wife and children on social media in 2021. Along with this he wrote ‘Family’. The entire family was seen together in the picture.

Mushtaq Khan was kidnapped
In November 2024, Mushtaq Khan was called and kidnapped on the pretext of an awards function. There was talk of making him the chief guest at a program in Meerut. To win his trust, the miscreants sent him an advance of Rs 25,000 and also booked him a flight ticket from Mumbai to Delhi.
After reaching Delhi airport on 20th November, a cab took him to Meerut. On the way he was made to sit in another vehicle. After this he was kidnapped at gunpoint. He was taken to a house in Bijnor and kept hostage for about 12 hours. The miscreants demanded a ransom of Rs 1 crore.
After the incident, the police registered a case on the complaint of Mushtaq Khan’s PA and in the investigation arrested many main accused of this gang including Lavi Pal and Sarthak.
The next morning the kidnappers were drunk and some were sleeping. Meanwhile Mushtaq Khan escaped from there. Reaching the nearby mosque, he asked for help from the local people. People contacted his family and the police.
According to the police, the miscreants had also withdrawn around Rs 2.2 lakh from his bank account. The police had arrested many accused of the gang in the case. According to the police, the gang had also tried to trap other actors including Shakti Kapoor and Rajesh Puri in a similar manner.
