The dates for assembly elections in Maharashtra have been announced. The Central Election Committee meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party was held on Wednesday. In which the names of the candidates were discussed. BJP is at the forefront in finalizing the names of the candidates.
BJP CEC has decided 110 names in the Delhi meeting. Out of that, the first list of 50 to 60 names can be declared from Delhi on Friday. Most of these will be sitting MLAs. However, faces may be changed on some seats. Tickets of some ministers may also be cut.
Sources say that BJP is firm on its stand that it will not contest elections on less than 150 seats. After this, the remaining 138 seats will be divided between Shinde Sena and Ajit group.
The Election Commission announced the date of Maharashtra Assembly elections on 15 October. Voting will be held on all 288 seats in the state in a single phase on November 20.
The result will be declared on 23rd November. The major parties included in the grand alliance government in Maharashtra are BJP, Shiv Sena Shinde and NCP (Ajit).

Jayant Patil (NCP-SP state unit chief) is representing the party. According to the information received from them, agreement has been reached on 200 out of total 288 seats. When asked which seats the NCP (SP) would demand in Satara district, he said Patil would take the decision regarding seat sharing.
