Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi on Saturday visited the Muktinath temple in Nepal’s Gandaki province and offered prayers at the holy site of Hindus and Buddhists. He also visited the Western Division Headquarters of Nepal Army in Pokhara, where he was welcomed by Major General Santosh Ballabh Paudyal.
General Dwivedi had reached Kathmandu on Wednesday on a five-day official visit at the invitation of Nepal Army Chief General Ashok Sigdel. Nepal President Ramchandra Paudel conferred the rank of Honorary General of Nepal Army on the Indian Army Chief.
Apart from this, General Dwivedi on Friday met Nepal’s Prime Minister K.P. Sharma met Oli and Defense Minister Manbir Rai and discussed issues of mutual interest. General Dwivedi also held bilateral talks with his Nepalese counterpart General Sigdel at Nepal Army Headquarters.

7 killed, 4 injured in bus-auto collision in Andhra Pradesh

Seven people were killed and four others seriously injured in a collision between a bus and an auto in Andhra Pradesh’s Anantapur district. According to the police, 12 agricultural laborers from Nellutla village of Kuttaluru mandal were going to work in Garaldine mandal in an auto.
While returning, a bus coming from the front hit his auto. Two of the deceased died on the spot, while two others died on the way to the hospital. Three injured died in the hospital during treatment. Other injured are being treated at Anantapur Government Hospital.
