In the Chandel district of Manipur, adjacent to the Indo-Myanmar border, security forces took major action on Wednesday and killed ten armed militants. The operation was carried out by a unit of Assam Rifles under the direction of Spear Corps under the Eastern Command.
According to sources, a special campaign was launched after receiving information about the activities of the militants near New Samatal village of Khengji Tehsil. During the campaign, suspected militants started firing on security forces.
