The Election Commission in West Bengal has released the second supplementary voter list on Friday night. However, information about how many names were added or removed has not been given.
According to the Commission, the booth-wise list was uploaded on the website at around 11:30 pm, but due to technical problems, the data regarding how many names were added or deleted could not be accessed.
Earlier on Monday, the first supplementary list was released, in which 13 lakh names were removed. These names were ‘under adjudication’, that is, the Commission was examining their documents. According to the Commission, more than 60 lakh names were kept in this category.
58 lakh names were removed during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR). After this, the number of voters in the state had reduced from 7.66 crore to 7.08 crore. In the final voter list released on February 28, this number came down to 7.04 crore.
