The Home Ministry issued a notification on Saturday, stating that Delhi Police will reserve 20 percent of the posts of Constable (Executive) for former firefighters. Not only this, they will be exempted from Physical Efficiency Test and age limit will be relaxed.
The move is part of the amendments made to the Delhi Police (Appointment and Recruitment) Rules, 1980, which were notified on Friday. Under this, the recruitment policy of the force has been formalized in line with the Centre’s broader plan to induct Agniveers into the security forces after completing four years of tenure in the armed forces.

Supreme Court asked the Center and States – what procedure should be adopted in cases of human trafficking
The Supreme Court has directed the Center and all states to provide it with information about the standard procedure to be followed in human trafficking cases. The bench of Justices Ahsanuddin Amanullah and R Mahadevan said it was not interested in any imaginary or academic formula but wanted a practical approach.
The court said that in cases of human trafficking, including trafficking of children, time is of the essence. Therefore, whatever guidelines are necessary or suggested should be keeping in mind the time frame within which the police have to take immediate action when they receive a complaint of a missing person.
