Meta has restored the posts that were removed from the Facebook page of Kerala CM VD Satheesan. These included posts congratulating Asha workers on Onam bonus and Milad-un-Nabi.
CMO has asked Meta and Central IT Ministry the reason for removing the post. The government also asked whether the posts were removed through an automated system or by an individual.
Satheesan said that removal of government posts without reason is a serious concern. Chief Minister’s Secretary Ratan U. Kelkar demanded strengthening of security of official social media accounts.

2 killed during Dahi Handi in Maharashtra, 306 injured in Mumbai Govinda
Two people died in accidents during Dahi Handi in Maharashtra. A pillar of bricks fell on 7 year old Rudra Kadam in Mumbai. In Pune, a woman lost her life after an iron structure collapsed.
306 Govindas were injured in Mumbai. The injured are undergoing treatment in hospitals. The administration had arranged for additional beds and medicines. Deputy CM Eknath Shinde appealed to the youth to give priority to safety. He said, break the pot, but save your life.
BJP MP Dinesh Sharma becomes the new Lieutenant Governor of Andaman and Nicobar
BJP Rajya Sabha MP and former UP Deputy CM Dinesh Sharma has been appointed as the new Lieutenant Governor of Andaman and Nicobar. Rashtrapati Bhavan announced this on Saturday.
Dinesh Sharma, 62, will be in office from the day he assumes charge. He is the current Lieutenant Governor Admiral D.K. Joshi (retired).
D.K. Joshi assumed office on 8 October 2017. Sharma’s Rajya Sabha tenure was to end on November 25. He is also the Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha.
Congress demands change in caste census form and dropdown list
Congress has demanded to provide a dropdown list of castes in the caste census form. Party leader Subhashini Yadav said that writing the caste name yourself can lead to different names and spellings being recorded, which can lead to distortion in the data.
Congress said that the list of castes is already available with the central and state governments. The party has sought discussion with political parties, experts and the public for the new form.
According to Congress, correct caste data is necessary for representation and government schemes of OBC, EBC and other backward classes. The caste census is to start from February 2027.
