Malayalam cinema superstar Mohanlal was today honored by Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi for his outstanding contribution to the society and his constant connection with the armed forces.

Indeed, Mohanlal is the first and only Indian actor to get the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian ‘Territorial Army’. However, Mohanlal achieved this rank after becoming an actor in the year 2009.

Apart from this, the actor has also shared a post on X, in which he wrote, today I was called by Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, PVSM, AVSM, where I was honored by giving COAS praise letters to me in front of seven army commanders.

I am very happy and grateful to receive this honor as an honorary lieutenant colonel. I heartily thank General Upendra Dwivedi, the entire Indian Army and its maternal unit Territorial Army for this honor and always supporting.

Mohanlal was awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the most proud of Hindi cinema for his contribution to the film world. President Draupadi Murmu wore a shawl and gave him the Golden Lotus Award. During this, Mohanlal got a standing ovation.

Mohanlal has worked not only in Malayalam, but also in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada films. Mohanlal, who started her career with ‘Manzil Virinja Pukkal’ in the 1980s, has acted in more than 350 films.

Earlier, Mohanlal has received the National Film Award 5 times. He has also been honored with Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri. Due to his contribution in the field of cinema, he has been given the title of ‘The Complete Actor’.
