Indian girls won the team championship by securing 8 medals including 5 gold.
The Indian Under-17 Women’s Wrestling team returning after participating in the World Championship is stuck at Jordan’s Amman Airport. It is being said that the players have missed their flight. Because, the Sports Authority of India (SAI) had booked the tickets of the players and coach in two different airlines.
A source associated with the team stuck in Amman said, “The young women wrestlers have missed their flight. It is not clear what happened. A separate flight should not have been booked for the young wrestlers. The Sports Authority of India (SAI) should have booked a single flight for them. They are all young.”
This team has won the team championship by winning a total of 8 medals including 5 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze. SAI has not yet issued an official statement in this matter.
