Indian -origin American lawyer Mathura Sreedharan has been appointed as Solicitor General of Ohio State. After the appointment, Mathura faced online trolling.

Some people raised questions about his dot and Indian origin and said why a non-American was given this post.

In response, Ohio’s Attorney General Dave Yost said- ‘Some people are wrong that Mathura is not American. He is an American citizen, married to an American citizen and his parents are also American citizens.

If their name or color bothers you, then the problem is in you, not Mathura or in their appointment. ‘

Mathura won the case in US Supreme Court

Yost praised Mathura, saying that Mathura won the case in the US Supreme Court last year. He was also recommended by two former Solicitor General of Ohio, Benjamin Flowers and Elliot Gaer. Yost said that Mathura is very smart and speaks clearly.

I told them that I want a lawyer arguing with them, and she does so. I am happy to appoint his appointment. The Mathura will fight the case on behalf of the Ohio state in the US Supreme Court.

Mathura is fond of traveling and cooking

Mathura earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Economics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Subsequently, he completed a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the same institute.

He received a Zuris Doctor (JD) degree from New York University School of Law in 2010.
