External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal held a weekly press conference on Friday.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said on Friday that Pakistan has been carrying out nuclear activities secretly for years. This includes smuggling, rule breaking, secret partnerships and AQ Khan network.
He said that India has always been reminding the world of this. For this reason, we have also taken note of US President Donald Trump’s statement regarding Pakistan’s nuclear test.
In fact, Trump had said in an interview on Sunday that Pakistan is conducting nuclear tests secretly. The Ministry of External Affairs has responded to this statement in the weekly press conference.
AQ Khan network used to smuggle nuclear technology
The AQ Khan network that the Ministry of External Affairs mentioned was a secret international nuclear smuggling network. It was created by Pakistan’s nuclear scientist Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan. This network remained active from the 1970s to the early 2000s.
Qadir Khan is called the father of Pakistan’s atomic bomb. He developed uranium enrichment technology for Pakistan, due to which Pakistan conducted nuclear tests in 1998.
However, it later came to light that Dr. Khan took the same technology to other countries also. This was called AQ Khan Network. This network was not a formal institution, but a secret network of scientists, engineers and companies spread across different countries.
Through these, the parts, machines and designs required for the nuclear program were quietly delivered to countries like Iran, North Korea and Libya.
This secret was exposed in 2003 when Libya informed international agencies about its nuclear program. Investigation revealed that Libya had received the technology from Pakistan.
After this, in 2004, Dr. Qadeer Khan came on TV and admitted that he had helped these countries, although Qadeer Khan also said that he did this work of his own free will and not on the orders of the government.

After increasing international pressure, Pakistan put Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan under house arrest and said that the network has been dismantled.
Trump said- Atomic testing in Russia, China and Korea also
Trump had said that America needs to start nuclear testing again. He claimed that America has so many nuclear weapons that the world can be destroyed 150 times, but due to the activities of Russia and China, testing is necessary.
When Trump was asked that no one except North Korea is doing nuclear test, why are you doing it? On this, Trump said that Russia, Pakistan and China are also doing secret tests, but the world does not know. Read the full news…
