Bhagat Singh had no role in the freedom struggle of the subcontinent. He was not a revolutionary but a Comintern—a terrorist in today’s terms, because he had murdered a British police officer and for this he and his comrades were sentenced to death. He was a criminal. Calling this criminal a martyr is an insult and a deliberate insult to the concept of martyrdom in Islam.
