Today is the last day of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s two-day Brunei visit. Earlier, he reached Brunei on Tuesday at 3 pm Indian time. On reaching the airport, Brunei’s Crown Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah gave PM Modi a rail carpet welcome.

After this he was also given a guard of honour. People from the Indian community also welcomed him at a hotel in Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital of Brunei.

After this, PM Modi reached Brunei’s Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque. Here he also watched a video related to the history of the mosque. The Prime Minister also inaugurated a chancery of the High Commission of India in Bandar Seri Begawan.

This is the first visit of an Indian PM to Brunei. The two countries will complete 40 years of diplomatic relations in 2024. PM Modi has come here at the invitation of Brunei Sultan Haji Hassan Al-Bolkiah.

PM Modi will meet Brunei’s Sultan Haji Hassan Al-Bolkiah today. This meeting will take place in the world’s largest palace ‘Istana Nurul Iman’. After this meeting, bilateral talks will also be held between India and Brunei.

During this time, there will be talks between the two countries on liquefied natural gas (LNG), investment and defense cooperation. India is importing hydrocarbons from Brunei and is trying to increase the supply of natural gas.

India has invested $270 million in Brunei’s hydrocarbon sector. This can be further increased to meet the natural gas requirements. Apart from this, efforts to increase mutual cooperation between the two countries on space technology and health will also be discussed. India will discuss the situation in Myanmar.

India and Brunei are celebrating 40 years of their diplomatic relations in 2024.

The Sultan of Brunei lives a luxurious life
Bolkiah is the 29th Sultan of Brunei. He has also been the Prime Minister of Brunei since the British left in 1984. Bolkiah is the longest-reigning king after Queen Elizabeth II. He celebrated his Golden Jubilee in 2017 after ruling for 50 years.

In a small country like Brunei, the Sultan is not only the most powerful person but also one of the richest monarchs. He was the richest person in the world until 1980. According to Forbes, Bolkiah’s net worth was Rs 1.4 lakh crore in 2008.

The Sultan’s luxury can be estimated from the fact that after becoming the king, he built a palace worth 50 billion rupees. This palace is known as “Istana Nurul Iman”. Apart from this, the Sultan has 7 thousand cars.

The King of Brunei is the owner of immense wealth. He gets all the government facilities and does not even have to pay taxes.

After Brunei, PM Modi will leave for Singapore tour
After completing the Brunei tour, Prime Minister Modi will visit Singapore on 4 and 5 September. During this he will also hold a bilateral meeting with Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong. PM ​​Modi is visiting Singapore after nearly 6 years.

During the visit, PM Modi will also meet the President of Singapore. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, PM Modi will also meet the business leaders of Singapore. During this, formal talks can also take place with them.
