Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday described the recent free trade deal between India and Britain as ‘historic’ and said that this trade agreement reflects the world’s trust in India. Regarding Operation Sindoor, he said that these weapons manufactured under the ‘Make in India’ initiative played a big role in destroying enemy’s hideouts during the border military campaign and made enemies sleep.

Life line of railway industrial development: PM Modi
Promising a developed India and Tamil Nadu, he said, ‘The infrastructure and energy are the backbone of the development of any state; Our focus on infrastructure and energy in the last 11 years shows our commitment to the development of Tamil Nadu. The NDA government has constructed Atal Setu, Sonamarg Tunnel, Bogibi Bridge in different parts of the country and thousands of employment opportunities have been created from them. Regarding the railway, he said that this is the lifeline of industrial development.
Projects he inaugurated on Saturday is related to airports, highways, railways, ports and electricity in Tamil Nadu. Inaugurated projects include a new state -of -the -art Tuticorin Airport Terminal Building, which has been developed at an estimated cost of about Rs 450 crore. As far as railway projects are concerned, this includes electrification of the 90 km-long Madurai-Bodinicconur line started at a cost of Rs 99 crore and doubling of 21 km long Nagarkoil Town-Kanyakumari section at a cost of Rs 650 crore.

PM inaugurated rail-road projects
The Prime Minister dedicated two strategically important highway projects to the nation. The first of the 50 km of Sethiathop-Cholapuram section of NH-36 in 4-lane. It has been developed at a cost of Rs 2,350 crore. Second NH-138 Tuticorin Port Road widening in 6 lane of 5.16 km, which has been constructed at a cost of about 200 crores. He inaugurated the 6.96 MMTPA handling capacity North Cargo Berth-III at the VO Chidambaranar port at a cost of Rs 285 crore.
On this occasion, he called for the famous freedom fighters of the region- VO Chidambaram Pillai, Raja Veerpandia Kattabomman and Sardar Veeran Ajahgu Muthukon. Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi participated in the event. State Finance Minister Thangam Thenarasu presented a souvenirs, a memento of the prestigious Valluvar Kottam of Chennai to the Prime Minister on the occasion. Union Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu, Union Minister of State L Murugan, Tamil Nadu Social Welfare Minister P Geeta Jeevan, Lok Sabha MP Kanimozhi and top officials participated.
