Rajesh Kumar, brother of Bollywood actor Yashpal Sharma, is trapped in a bribery scandal in Hisar. He has been arrested taking bribe of Rs 3 thousand. The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught him red handed on Thursday. Officials say that Rajesh had demanded bribe in connection with the arrangement of canal water for the colony on agricultural land near Rajgarh-Chandigarh Highway. Rajesh Kumar is an Assistant Revenue Clerk (ARC) in the Irrigation Department. It is being told that he was going to be promoted after 2 days. At the same time, Rajesh’s brother Ghanshyam Sharma, while talking to Dainik Bhaskar, claimed that he had not taken bribe. That was a government fee, a receipt is also given for it. Asked for bribe for irrigation system: Sources associated with ACB say that bribe was demanded from the complainant in exchange for making irrigation system in a colony. As soon as the complaint was received, the team first confirmed the allegations of demanding bribe. After this a trap was set to catch the accused. Sent to Rajesh after giving ₹3 thousand: ACB officials say that the complainant was sent to the accused after giving ₹3 thousand. As soon as Rajesh Kumar took the money from the complainant, the team reached the spot and caught him red handed. Case registered in Hisar: ACB officials say that Rs 3,000 as bribe was also recovered from Rajesh. ACB has registered a case against the accused in Hisar under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act. The accused is being interrogated in the case and further investigation is going on. Promotion was going to happen in a day or two. It is being told that Rajesh Sharma is posted on the post of ARC in the Irrigation Department. He was going to be promoted in a day or two and orders for it had also been issued. Meanwhile, he got arrested in a bribery case. According to sources, the ACB team was busy investigating the case till late night. Rajesh Sharma was interrogated by making him sit in the office. Brother said – We were also not allowed to go Yashpal Sharma’s second brother Ghanshyam Sharma told that when he came to know that his brother has been caught in some case. After this he reached the office, but was not allowed inside. He said that brother Rajesh is being implicated. Rajesh had asked for fees for the challan, for which a receipt is also given.
