The child is undergoing treatment at Safdarganj Hospital in Delhi.
A 6-year-old child has been seriously injured in a pitbull dog attack in Delhi’s Prem Nagar area. One of the child’s ears was cut off in the attack. There were deep wounds on his head, face and body. The incident has been recorded in CCTV. The video is viral.
The incident took place on November 23 around 3 pm. According to the victim’s family, the child was playing with a ball in the street with his elder brother. The ball had gone towards the neighbour’s house. When the child was going to pick him up, the pitbull attacked.
It is seen in the video that the pitbull runs towards the child. A woman tries to stop him, but is unable to. The child runs away from the dog, but the pit bull tackles him and bites him badly. The pit bull bites off the child’s right ear.

According to eyewitness Satish, we had saved the child from a pitbull. When I saw, the child’s ear was cut off. Kept it safely with him. Blood was flowing from the child’s body. He was taken to a nearby hospital. From there the child was referred to Safdarjung. Satish’s son is already in jail in a murder case.
Police have arrested Pitbull’s owner Rajesh Pal (50) in the case. A case has been registered against him under section 291 (negligence towards animals) and section 125(b) (negligently endangering the life of others). Rajesh is a tailor by profession.
According to the family, the child has 8-10 deep pitbull bite wounds on his head, face and body. The child’s grandfather said that the pitbull had already attacked 4-5 children. We asked several times that this dog should be removed, but nothing happened.

Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice R. Mahadevan’s bench had said that Delhi, MCD and NMDC should collect dogs from all areas, especially sensitive areas, as soon as possible. If needed, create a separate force for this. The court had taken up the issue on its own notice on July 28, when a report presented in Parliament expressed concern over the increasing cases of rabies and deaths of children and elderly people in Delhi-NCR.
