नेपाल में प्लेन क्रैश, 18 लोगों की मौत: पायलट घायल, काठमांडू के एयरपोर्ट से उड़ान भरते ही हादसा हुआ

A plane has crashed in Nepal’s capital Kathmandu. So far 18 people have died in the accident. The injured pilot Captain Manish Shakya has been rushed to the hospital. There were 19 people on board the plane including the crew. It was going from Kathmandu to Pokhara.

The plane took off from Tribhuvan Airport. It crashed shortly after this at around 11 am. The 9N-AME plane belonged to Surya Airlines. According to Kathmandu Post, a team of police and fire fighters are conducting rescue operations at the spot.

According to news agency PTI, a security official said that the plane caught fire after the crash. It was extinguished immediately. Smoke can be seen rising in the pictures from the spot. However, the reason behind the accident has not been revealed yet.

Eyewitnesses said – there was a jolt as soon as it took off, then it crashed
Eyewitnesses present at the spot told Kathmandu Post, “The plane took off from the southern end of the runway. The plane suddenly jerked and its wing hit the ground. After this the plane caught fire. After this it fell on the eastern side of the runway between the Buddha Air hangar and the radar station.”

68 people died in the plane crash in Nepal in 2023
Earlier, a plane crash occurred in Nepal on 14 January 2023. In this accident, a Yeti Airlines plane crashed in Pokhara, 205 km from Kathmandu. It was an ATR-72 plane, carrying 68 passengers and four crew members. The plane collided with a hill just 10 seconds before landing at Pokhara International Airport. This caused the plane to catch fire and it fell into a ditch.
