India’s star javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra threw the best throw of the season at the Lausanne Diamond League 2024 in Switzerland on Friday (August 23). He threw 89.49 meters in his final attempt. However, he could not throw above 90 meters.

Neeraj finished second in the Lausanne Diamond League with his season best throw. Neeraj has qualified for the finals by finishing in the top six in the Diamond League Meeting Series table. With this throw, Neeraj surpassed his own throw of 89.45 meters in the Paris Olympics. Neeraj won the silver medal in the Olympics.

In the first four throws, Neeraj could not even reach 85 meters. His first throw was 82.10 meters, second 83.21 meters, third 83.31 meters, fourth 82.34 meters. In his fifth throw, Neeraj threw the javelin 85.58 meters. In his last throw, Neeraj reached 89.49 meters.

Neeraj has become the third Indian player to win medals in two consecutive Olympics. Before Neeraj, wrestler Sushil Kumar and badminton player PV Sindhu had won medals in two consecutive Olympics.
