Following the trend of great layered spy thriller films like Dhurandhar, now a new wave of thrillers is being seen in Bollywood. In this series, Elephanta Films has released the teaser poster of its first film ‘Duffer’, which has increased both curiosity and suspense among the audience as soon as it is released. The main character’s face is completely hidden in the poster, which has further increased the mystery of the film. According to industry sources, names like Shahid Kapoor and John Abraham are in discussion for the lead role, although the makers have not made any official announcement yet. Describing Duffer as different from the traditional spy thriller, the makers have presented it as a layered and suspenseful story. Early indications suggest that the character’s identity and layers will slowly be revealed, just like Dhurandhar surprised the audience at every turn. Producer Komal Verma says, “We have decided to share limited information at this stage. Our aim is to let the audience connect with the mystery of the film. Sometimes what is not shown leaves a greater impact.” The film is directed by award-winning filmmaker Nakul Dev, who is known for his detailed and layered storytelling. Suman Divya is handling the writing and creative direction. Duffer’s poster was launched at Jim Corbett National Park, and the makers revealed that details regarding the cast and characters will be revealed in a phased manner in the future. Like Dhurandhar, ‘Duffer”s biggest weapon is its suspense. The face of the main character has not been revealed yet, and this mystery remains the center of discussion of the film. The audience’s eyes are now fixed on the official reveal of the lead actor, which will decide the direction of this project. Elephanta Films has also announced that apart from ‘Duffer’, the company is working on five more projects which will pursue films in the spy and thriller genre across different formats and subjects.
