दुर्गापुर रेप केस में बड़ा एक्शन, पुलिस ने मुख्य आरोपी को किया गिरफ्तार

According to police sources, Wasif Ali was under suspicion from the beginning and he was being interrogated continuously for the last four days. Today he was taken to the crime scene and reconstruction of the incident was done. After finding many important evidences, the police have formally arrested him.

The accused will be presented in the court tomorrow morning. Police say that further action will be taken on the basis of inquiry and technical evidence.

In this sexual harassment case, Police Commissioner of Asansol-Durgapur Police Commissionerate Sunil Kumar Chaudhary had shared important information in a press conference. The Police Commissioner rejected the allegations of gangrape on the basis of the facts revealed so far in this case. Doubts have also been raised on the role of the victim’s friend.

Police Commissioner Chaudhary said that the investigation in this case is going on and till now the presence of 6 accused has been established at the crime scene, who have been arrested. The victim’s mobile phone has also been recovered during the investigation.

‘Only one person involved in rape case’

The Police Commissioner clarified that based on the statement given by the victim and the physical evidence found so far, it has been established that only one person was involved in the sexual assault. He said, ‘According to the statement given by the victim, it has been established that a person has committed rape.’

Victim’s friend under suspicion

The police team went to the crime scene with the victim’s friend and a recreation of the crime was done. Clothes of one of the accused have been seized and sent to the forensic lab. Medical and forensic reports are still awaited.

The Police Commissioner said that during the investigation, the role of the victim’s friend has also been found suspicious. The friend’s activities are being investigated and he is being interrogated. He said that his clothes have also been collected.

Police stressed that their investigation is in progress and they are examining every aspect in detail. The final truth of this matter will be revealed only after the forensic and medical reports are received.
