According to the police, three youths riding a bike reached the spot, opened fire and fled away. The police team that reached the spot found empty cartridges on the road. Also, bullet marks were found on the front windshield of a blue colored Toyota Innova car parked there, from which the seriousness of the firing can be estimated.

The businessman had received threats several times

The victim present at the spot told the police that he deals in cardboard and property business. He revealed that between December 26 and December 29, 2025, he had received multiple WhatsApp calls and voice messages from an international number. The caller, claiming to be a big gangster, had demanded extortion money of Rs 3 crore and also threatened to kill him. The victim told that he had not informed the police about this matter earlier.

Police say that the accused carried out this firing incident with the intention of scaring when the extortion demand was not met. CCTV footage of the incident has also surfaced, in which the accused who opened fire are clearly visible. On the basis of the footage, the accused are being identified and searched.

Police registered a case and started searching for the accused.

In this matter, Begumpur police station has registered a case under the sections of extortion and firing. Crime team and FSL (Forensic Science Lab) team were also called to the spot for investigation, who collected evidence. At present, the police is scanning the footage of CCTV cameras of the surrounding areas and raids are being conducted at the possible hideouts of the accused. Police officials say that soon the accused will be arrested and the matter will be revealed.
