Rescue operation was carried out after a two-storey building collapsed in Delhi’s Karol Bagh.
A two-storey building collapsed in Delhi’s Karol Bagh area on Wednesday morning at 9 am. 3 people died and 14 were injured. The fire brigade rescued a young man alive from under the rubble after 8 hours of effort.
Fire brigade officials said that at 9.10 am, information was received about a house collapse in Prasad Nagar, Karol Bagh, after which 5 fire brigade vehicles were sent to the spot.
He said that the building is in a crowded area. The streets here are narrow. Due to this, it was difficult to use heavy machinery (crane, JCB). Due to this, the rescue operation was delayed.
DCP Harshvardhan said that we are trying our best to rescue people. Initial investigation revealed that some tenants lived in the building, who are not from Delhi. Legal action will be taken after the rescue operation is over.
